What is SIRA?

Supporting recovery, function, and return-to-work through approved allied health services.

Steps2Life provides allied health services for individuals with approved Workers Compensation claims under SIRA. Services are delivered in line with treatment plans, clinical recommendations, and insurer approvals.

What Is SIRA Workers Compensation Support

SIRA Workers Compensation support provides access to allied health services for individuals recovering from a work-related injury or condition.

Once a claim is approved, services may be delivered to support recovery, improve functional capacity, and assist with return-to-work outcomes. All services must align with approved treatment plans and insurer requirements.

Steps2Life works alongside treating practitioners, insurers, and case managers to ensure care is coordinated, appropriate, and compliant with SIRA guidelines.

Referral Requirements

To access SIRA-funded allied health services:

  1. A workplace injury claim must be lodged and accepted by the insurer
  2. Your GP or treating doctor then provides a referral outlining the recommended allied health support
  3. This referral, along with insurer or case manager approval, must be in place before services can commence.

Ongoing services typically require periodic review and re-approval in line with SIRA guidelines.

Working With Employers and Insurers

Steps2Life works collaboratively with employers, insurers, and case managers throughout the recovery process to ensure services remain aligned with approved treatment plans and return-to-work goals. We provide regular progress updates and reporting to support ongoing approvals, and where appropriate, liaise directly with workplaces to support safe and sustainable return-to-work planning. This coordinated approach helps keep all parties informed and recovery on track.
